ASA U10 Dynamo Elite Boys - Fauquier County Hunt Country Classic Champions!

Under the direction of Coach Ryan Quinn the ASA Dynamo Elite U10 Boys won four games on the chilly November 19 weekend to win the Fauquier County Hunt Country Classic Tournament.

In the first game on an early-morning frozen turf the ASA Dynamo battled the SYA Scimitars from the Old Dominion league evenly for most of the game.  Both sides created chances early in the game. Finally, late in the second half Camille El-Baba scored off a corner kick, and that score held for a 1-0 ASA Dynamo victory.

In the second game that afternoon the ASA Dynamo played Loudon, and brought strong momentum from the win that morning. Randy Harrell scored with a left-footed, first-time shot at the top of the box off a corner in the first half. Minutes later Dynamo Elite’s Coles Edmunds knocked in a great through ball to Yousef Beidas who converted to make it 2-0 at the half. With good passing Dynamo Elite scored at the end of the second half with a shot tucked in the lower left corner again by Yousef Beidas to make the final score 3-0.

In the semi-finals on Sunday Dynamo Elite faced a tough VYS Excel Black team from the Old Dominion Soccer League who came out firing, and playing very well. However, at halftime Dynamo Elite was up 1-0 on a goal by Yousef Beidas.  In the second half  ASA Dynamo fought hard to defend their lead. At one point goalie Connor Ortman (who was in the goal for all four games) saved a goal by extending his full body to tip the ball wide of the post. With opportunities going both ways Jack Claire finally slammed one in for ASA Dynamo on a first-time off a corner kick. This was ASA Dynamo’s third goal of the tournament off a corner kick. VYS scored late in this battle to make the final score 2-1.

In the tournament final ASA Dynamo faced Fauquier County. The team, showing confidence and excitement in their first tournament final, played beautiful soccer. Jack Claire knocked one in from the left side  to make it 1-0 early in the game. In the second half the team was passing really well, and used their skills to open up another great opportunity. Yousef Beidas checked into the middle of the field to receive a pass, turned and shot, scoring from 20 yards away, skipping the ball over the keeper to give ASA Dynamo its final score, and the win 2-0.For the tournament ASA Dynamo gave up only one goal in four games. The defense, led by sweeper  and co-MVP Jack Hall, was outstanding. Striker Jack Claire who had two goals was the other co-MVP. Coach Ryan Quinn, Director of Coaching and Player Development as well as coach for the U10 Dynamo Elite said, “I am pleased with our success this weekend. The boys love the game if they win or lose. They were rewarded for the hard work they put in this season. This is a great group with a lot of potential. I am excited about what the future holds for this team.”
